Welcome to the Summer

Welcome to Summer break, where all teachers get the chance to explore their Summer Bucket List, Rest and Enjoy time off from the Hectic School year.

Welcome to our transformative journey of growth and self-discovery! As a fellow educator, I’ve navigated countless classroom challenges and discovered new heights of teaching potential within myself and in the lives of my students. I wanted to share one of my fondest memories as a teacher:

My Teaching Memory:

I clearly remember myself wrapping up the school year, and thinking about all of the planning that I would have to do over the summer to prepare for the next school year.  This planning included room decorations, small projects that I want to do, and how my class would be next year.  I can remember one particular project —revamping an outdated curriculum—and I recall the uncertainty I felt.  I started from the beginning, and took the time to really look at first – The Standards – next – The Outcomes – finally – The Goal and Focus for Each Lesson.

The Lesson Learned

  • Taking personal time to tackle your goals does work, but it costs.  Anytime you invest your time, you give a  bit of yourself.  Your time is valuable, and important.

But embracing the challenge led to remarkable growth, both for my students and myself. 🌱

Reflect on This:  I invite you to take the time and look deep into yourself.  What aspect of teaching lights up your spirit? Is it the spark of curiosity in your students’ eyes, or perhaps the creative freedom in lesson planning? Let’s rediscover that spark together. 🔥
